Week 25 - Next Week is Vacation! :-D

"View of Walkway from Conant Building Window"

It is hard to believe, but it is already my 25th week of college at Vermont Tech! I have the rest of this week of classes, but then I have all of next week off for vacation! When I come back I will have 4 weeks left of classes for the year, and then a week of final exams.

On Thursday I have an exam in Intro. to Technical Math II, and I am pretty sure that I am going to do a horrible job on this one. I have tried going through all of the old homework problems to see is I can make it finally click, but I think that I need to visit Student Support Services down in the Conant building to get some math help.

The exam covers three chapters in our math book. It is pretty much based on "Solving and Proving Trigonometric Equations." I should add that doing this seems extremely difficult for me right now, but I know that once I get it down as a process that I should quickly become better at solving these math problems.

The toughest thing about the exam is going to be having only an hour to solve all of the problems that will be on it. It is extremely easy when working with Trigonometric Identities to run into a "mental block" and simply waste your time by staring at the problem instead of trying to solve it. Another serious problem is how you never know which way is the right, or easier, way of solving the problem. You could very well spend 10-20 minutes working on a problem only to discover that your method will not work.

Well, enough about my math exam. I was also given a "take-home" exam from Digital Circuits II which is due Thursday, and I am expected to have an exam in C Programming the Monday after I get back from my upcoming vacation. Exams are so much fun! :-|

Well, that is all I have for now. I won't post tomorrow night because I am going to have to study for my math exam, but I may post Friday if not on Thursday. Looking forward to my vacation!!!

Jamming in Old Dorm

"Keenan Hall & Morey Hall"

I have been playing guitar for over 8 years now, so it is something that I not only enjoy doing, but have developed into a lifestyle. I am obsessed with playing, and I really enjoy playing with other people. I went down to Old Dorm around 8 o'clock today to play with one of my college friends, and play a requested song for another one.

My classes have been going pretty well. My last math exam (#2) was given back to me and I managed to score a 79% on it, so I am quite happy with what I got. I have a very scary math quiz tomorrow that is based on fundamental trigonometric identities and graphing trigonometric functions. I really hope that I am able to keep up my average and surprise myself by performing well on what must be the scariest quiz of the year. I know that I am not alone though. I know that the majority, if not all, of the students in the class are lacking confidence.

I will try to post at least once or twice more this week. If you look in the picture I took you can see that the snow is quickly starting to melt. When all the snow has disappeared I will have plenty of pictures to take which means that I will have plenty of blog posts to make. :-D

Holy Crap It is Week 23 Already!

"My PS3 and the Best Game Ever Created for any System"

I was pretty stressed out last week, so unfortunately I completely forgot to update my blog. I am confident that once the snow disappears I will have plenty of things on campus to take pictures of and write about.

Anyway, last week I had my first Fundamentals of Circuits II exam, and my 2nd Intro. to Technical Math II exam. I did well on my circuits exam. I received an 82 on it, and I would have probably received a 90 if I wouldn't have foolishly recognized an inductor as a resistor. I was doing so well on the exam that I just kept blazing through it. The exam was early in the morning, and thanks to the drunken assholes on my floor who like to kick my door at 2 o'clock every morning I usually don't get enough sleep.

They do it every morning, right at 2 o'clock. It is a game to them. They kick my door and then run away like little middle school girls, so I have yet to see who exactly has been doing it. I have boot prints on my door. I took pictures of the prints, and placed a sign on my door "advising" them to stop. If their BS continues I plan on submitting my photos of their boot prints to security, and asking the Resident Director of my dorm building if we can have a floor meeting about what they have been doing, and to determine who has been doing it.

I am not a security type of person, but they keep running away, and if I don't know who is doing it then I don't know who to ask in person to please stop. People don't realize that I am an extremely busy, and easy-to-like, kind of person. Hell, if I knew who they were I would play some guitar for them or something to make them realize that it is wrong for them to be kicking my door at 2 o'clock in the morning. No one's door should ever be kicked, but maybe if these people got to know me better they wouldn't be acting so stupid. It is too bad that they are too cowardly to show me who they are. I am strong mentally, and weak physically... they have nothing to fear from me. Unless they really want me to start writing letters to the college, they have nothing to worry about. I am already planning on talking to my Resident Assistant, my Resident Director, and directly to Campus Security. I will do everything it takes to make it stop, but it is up to them whether or not I will do so peacefully.

On another quick note: 2 WEEKS AFTER THIS THEN A WEEK OFF!!!! YAY!!! :-D
